Adding sub-projects to a project or a program

Fluid makes it easy to construct and deconstruct project hierarchies by simply linking and de-linking projects. Larger projects or programs can therefore be broken down into smaller projects and then linked to create a project hierarchy.

A project can only belong to one program. A project with 'child' or 'sub' projects is called a 'parent' project. A project can have many sub projects - but can only ever have one parent project. There can be any number of levels in a project hierarchy. 

Sub projects are listed in the Sub Projects section of the Project Workspace. Project hierarchies are built by adding sub projects to a parent project or a program.

To add an existing project as a sub project, select 'Link a Project', search for the project you want and click OK.

If the selected project already has sub projects, those sub projects will also be listed, indented below their parent, as they are automatically added to the project hierarchy.

You can also create a NEW sub project by selecting 'Create a Project' - the newly created project will automatically be linked as a sub project. You will only have this option is you have Project Submission rights on your Fluid account.
