Using Custom Properties

Edited

Custom properties extend Fluid’s data model to capture organisation-specific information across projects, boards, meetings, and other entities. Once set up by administrators, these properties become available for users to view, update, and report on throughout the platform.

This article explains where you can see custom properties, how they appear in the interface, and how to interact with them.

Where Custom Properties Appear

Custom properties are displayed wherever the element they belong to is used. The exact location depends on the entity type:

Bulk Edit and Export

Bulk Edit

When performing a bulk edit, all custom properties for the selected entity are included regardless of whether they are set as reportable or not.
This allows administrators or project managers to update multiple records efficiently without needing to open each one individually.

Export to Excel

When exporting records to Excel, only reportable custom properties are included in the export.
Marking a property as Reportable ensures that it appears in datasets, dashboards, and spreadsheet exports, helping keep outputs focused on key data points.
