Are the document type values in the dropdown when uploading a template static or configurable?
Question:
Are the document type values in the dropdown when uploading a template static or configurable?
Answer:
Some document types in Fluid are fixed because they are required by core components, while others are fully configurable by administrators.
Fixed Document Types
When uploading templates (Admin Console > Reporting Templates), the Document Type dropdown helps Fluid determine where the uploaded file is used and how it will surface throughout the system.
Fluid includes a number of system defined document types. Examples include:
Meetings → controls how uploaded minutes templates appear when generating Meeting Minutes
Dashboards → determines which templates are available in Dashboard or Reporting modules
These types are not editable or removable.
These types ensure consistent behaviour and correct template availability across the application.
How to Add New Document Types
Administrators can create additional document types through:
Administration Console → Metadata Management → Document Types
From here, admins can:
Add new document type values
Update the naming of existing configurable types
Manage visibility ('Active' flag)
This enables teams to tailor Fluid's document labels to their align with their internal processes, naming conventions, or reporting standards.
