Fluid runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to install. We support the two most recent major versions of:
Google Chrome
Microsoft Edge
Mozilla Firefox
Apple Safari (Mac, iPhone and iPad)
Most browsers update themselves automatically, so if you keep yours up to date you are already on a supported version.
Older browser versions
Fluid will usually still work in older versions, but we do not test them and some features may not work as expected. If you report a problem that only happens in an older browser, our support team may ask you to update it first.
If your browser is very old, Fluid shows a yellow banner at the top of the page saying that the browser is unsupported. You can close the banner with the X on the right, but we recommend updating your browser. The banner appears for versions older than these:
Browser | Banner shown below version |
Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and other Chromium-based browsers | 109 |
Mozilla Firefox | 115 |
Apple Safari on Mac | 16 |
Any browser on iPhone or iPad | iOS / iPadOS 16 |
Internet Explorer is not supported. If you open Fluid in it, you will be taken to a page asking you to use one of the browsers above.
Checking your browser version
Google Chrome: click the three-dot menu, then Help > About Google Chrome.
Microsoft Edge: click the three-dot menu, then Help and feedback > About Microsoft Edge.
Mozilla Firefox: click the menu button, then Help > About Firefox.
Safari on Mac: in the Safari menu, click About Safari.
iPhone or iPad: open Settings > General > About and check the iOS or iPadOS version.
Note: If your organisation manages your computer or browser, you may not be able to update it yourself. Ask your IT team to update it for you.
